Mr. Charlie Lee Taylor, age 73 of Mableton, Georgia formally of Thomson, Georgia entered into rest on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. He was born on July 9, 1945 to the late Charlie Evans Taylor & late Mildred Dell Moore Curry.
He was affectionately known to some by the name “Cricket” & “Put-Put. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. After four years of service, he began employment at the Wilson-Finley Company. He was employed at the Wilson-Finley Company for thirty six years as a welder until his retirement. Also, he was the co-owner of the T&W Lounge in Thomson, Georgia.
He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Valerie (Johnny) Gilbert of Lithonia, Georgia & Temiko (Christopher) Smith of Ellenwood, Georgia, Shannon (Adrian) Sample of Mansfield, Texas & Carmelita (Frankie) Clark of Jacksonville, Florida & Paris B. Taylor of Austell, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Katesha Chaney, Dereck Gilbert, Victor (Andrea) Chaney, Jr. Keanu Hall, Rashad Clark, Aariyana Clark, Myles Sample, Mason Taylor, Nova Kelly, Karter Taylor; four great grandchildren, Mateo Chaney, Jayden Chaney, Jaycee Chaney & Sean Carter; one sister, Patricia Evon Taylor of Thomson, Georgia; two brothers, Johnny Evans Taylor, Sr; of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Freddie (Betty) Taylor , Sr; of Thomson, Georgia; three aunts, Georgia Mae Wilson, Hadale Wilson and Daisy Wilson and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral procession will leave the residence of his sister, Patricia Taylor at 10:20 am on Saturday.
