Deacon Garnsy Grissom, Sr

Deacon Garnsy Grissom, Sr., age 90 of Mesena, Georgia entered into rest on Tuesday, May 6, 2019 at his residence. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 1 pm at the Lithonia Baptist Church, Rev. Lyndon Heath, pastor. The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday beginning at 12 noon until the hour of service.  The interment and the repast will follow at the church. Viewing will begin at the funeral home on Friday from 12 noon to 7 pm.  He is survived by his loving & devoted wife, Carrie Bell Grissom of Mesena, Georgia; children, Willis Grissom of Atlanta, Georgia, Katie Rivers of Thomson, Georgia, Mary (Marvin) Floyd of Ft. Myers, Forida, Diane (Louise) Carter, Teresa Grissom, Lisa (Donald) Daniels all of Hephzibah, Georgia and Garnsy Grissom, Jr of Mesena, Georgia; an adopted daughter, Lee (Jerry) Cannon of Hephzibah, Georgia; as a daughter in law, Jeannette Williams of Augusta, Georgia; one sister, Eva Green of Mesena, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Verna Mae Embry of Thomson, Georgia, Evelyn Grissom of Atlanta, Georgia and Annie Kate Allen of Columbus Ohio; twenty-four grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral procession will leave the residence at 12:15 pm on Saturday.
