George Moss, Jr. was born on August 10, 1939 in Thomson, Georgia to the late Ethel and George Moss. He entered into rest on May 02, 2018 at the St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota. George accepted Christ at an early age at Jones Grove Baptist Church. George was affectionately known as Buddy. He often spoke about how he tagged along everywhere especially church with his grandmother Lonnie who nicknamed him my "Buddy."
George moved to Chicago as a young man and it is there where he was drafted into the U.S. Army in the early 1960's. He served his country honorably. Upon discharge he returned to Chicago. During this time his daughter, Theresa was born. He began working for R.R. Donnelley Printing Company in which he later retired.
George married Ruby Jones in 1967 and to their union 2 children were born; Rachel and George. They later moved to Richmond, Virginia where he continued working for a Richmond newspaper until he decided to go into business for himself. He started a commercial cleaning service that he proudly owned until 2013.
Buddy was quick witted and loved to joke around and smile. He never met a stranger and was quick to say "Hello - how you doing?" to everyone. He adored all of his family and often went down memory lane whenever you had a talk with him. He will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Frazier Moss.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of fifty years Ruby; children, Theresa (Cyril) Nichols, Rachel Moss & George Moss both of St. Paul Minnesota; three sisters, Flory (Harvey) McNair, Thomson, Ga., Dorothy Jackson, Stapleton, Ga., and Lena (Willie) White; grandchildren Mychal, Alannah, Cierra, Chloe, Cyril Jr. and Geonna; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
