Marvin Sim, Sr was born on to the late Lamar & Mary Bessie Sim in Glascock,Gibson, Georgia. At an early age, he joined the William Grove Baptist Church. He was currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended the Glascock County High School in Gibson, Georgia. At an early age, he worked on the farm with his father. He later started working in the pulpwood industry. Marvin moved to Atlanta and later became employed with both the City of Decatur and the City of Atlanta. He enjoyed fishing. He loved his family and friends. The Atlanta Falcons was his favorite team. He will dearly be missed by many.
He was married to the late Mary Lois Sim and through this union three children, Melissa Sim, Marvin Sim, Jr & Michael Sim were born.
He departed this life on November 24, 2018 at the Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Sim, daughter, Melissa Sim & siblings, Clinton Sim, Henry Sim, John Sim, Jeanette Jenkins & Edith Allen.
He is survived by his sons, Marvin Sim, Jr; Michael Sim, Courtney Cleveland; step son, David Demmons; twenty-two grandchildren; sister, Roberta Kitchens (Jewel Kitchens) & brother, Boysie Sim (Jimmie Spencer) & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
