Ms. Sherri Charmaine Hobbs, age 55 of Thomson, Georgia entered into rest on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia around her loved ones. She was born on September 2, 1963 to Burnie Curtis & Rosa Hobbs,Sr. At an early age, she joined the Popular Spring Baptist Church in Appling, Georgia. She was a graduate of the Thomson High School class of 1981. She then furthered her education at the Paine College and later graduated in 1985. While at Paine College, she accomplished many things and received several awards such as Miss Paine College (1981-1982), Miss Belle Bennett Paine (1982-1983), Miss Ervin Hall, Miss Congeniality & 2nd Attendant Miss Paine College (1983-1984). She was currently employed as a legal assistant with the Richmond County District Attorney's Office and had been working there twenty-nine (29) years. She enjoyed her job at the District Attorney's Office & took pride in performing it. Also, she was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was a twenty (20) year breast cancer survivor. She was a loving & kind person. She always had a smile on her face and loved taking pictures. She loved cooking cakes & pies and would prepare Thanksgiving dinners at her residence. She will truly be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her father, Burnie C. Hobbs, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories; her loving & devoted mother, Rosa Hobbs; sister, Lisa (Ronny) Collins; brothers, Burnie (Iris) Hobbs,Jr & Jeffrey (Shirley) Love; nephews, Maury Collins & Javeon Moss; nieces, Neva Collins, Tiffany Bonner, Brittany Love, Brianna Love & LaTia Allen; aunts, Georgia (Earnest) Hobbs, Daisy Peyton, Lucille Hampton, Katherine Cartledge & Emma Cartledge; uncles, Abram (Sarah) Cartledge, Lonnie Cobb,Jr, Floyd (Delores) Cartledge, Walter Cobb,Sr, Ellis Cartledge, Lawrence Lee & Allen Lee; special cousin, Monica Hobbs; special friend, Robert Bailey & a host of other cousins, relatives & friends.
The funeral procession will leave the residence of her mother, Rosa Hobbs on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 12:20 pm.
