Johnnie Mae Ballard

With sincere sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Johnnie Mae Ballard, age 75 of Thomson, Georgia, who entered into rest on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. The Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at the First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 6269  Cobbham Road Appling, Georgia. The Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The repast will be held in the church fellowship hall. The body will lie in state beginning at 10 am until the hour of service. The viewing will begin on Monday from 11 am to 7 pm at the funeral home. She leaves to cherish her legacy of love: four daughters, Janice (Donald) Ivey of Grovetown, Georgia; Angela Ballard and Sheila Ballard both of Thomson, Georgia and Sheryl (Steve) Reese of Dearing, Georgia; son, Anthony Ballard of Augusta, Georgia; one step-daughter, Corliss Cummings of Chicago, Illinois; twenty-three grandchildren & twenty-one great grandchildren; one sister, Ester Mae (Roy) Paschal of Thomson, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Percy Lee Paschal of Thomson, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral procession will leave the residence at 10:15 am on Tuesday.  The D. T. Brown Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
