It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Jean Battle-Gilliam, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 4, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at the Trinity A.M.E. Church in Warrenton, Georgia. The Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 1 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted children Bettina Ivey and Manquell Ivey Sr. (Shantinee Norman);grandchildren, Bylan, Manquell Jr., Makiya, Ma’Liyah, Mekhi, and Malaysia Ivey; parents, George and Rev. Rose Reynolds; sisters, Lillie (Charlie) Harris, Shelia Mathis, Gloria (Charlie) Burley, Gloria (David) Jones, Angela Myrick, Cinderella Myricks, Mary Wilson, Shirley (Terry) Griffin, Thomasine (Derrick) Duggan, Barbara Fountain, and Corina Thompson; brothers, Julian Battle, Michael (Burnette) Mathis, Michael Fountain, James (Darnelle) Myricks, Richard (Marie) Fountain Jr., Jimmy Wilburn, Travis Kitchen, and Michael Wilburn; a great niece who she raised as her own, Petty Officer 2nd Class Nakyah Richardson, San Diego, CA; goddaughters, Shatavia Battle and Markeisseia Hudson; special friend, Calvin Jones; aunts, Brenda Lowe, Ruby Brown, Rosa Mae Lowe; uncles, James (Elizabeth) Lowe, Bobby (Ida) Lowe, David Lowe, and Calvin Lowe; her fur baby, Tigger; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
