Shirley Ann Smalley

Shirley Ann Smalley age 59, beloved wife of Willie Smalley entered into rest Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her residence, 2063 Pope Street Thomson, Georgia.  She was born October 10, 1958 in McDuffie County to the late Dan Ramsey, Sr. and Levosia Ramsey.

Shirley accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Popular Spring Baptist Church of Appling, Georgia. She diligently served as chairperson of the Culinary Art Ministry until her health began to fail. She was also a member of the Minister, Deacon and Trustee wives Ministry, also the PSBC Sanctuary Choir.  She served for many years as director of the PSBC Youth Ministry.  Her passion for youth created a loving bond. Shirley’s love for children was a love felt deep within the family and community.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Dan Ramsey, Sr. and Levosia Ramsey, also two brothers, Tyrone Ramsey and Willie Roy Ramsey.

Shirley leaves to cherish her loving memories, a devoted husband Willie “Duke” Smalley; son, Brian Quincy Daniels (Deja) of Hephzibah, Georgia; two step sons, Jamal Smalley (Brittany) and Andrew Smalley both of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Scott (Joseph) of Thomson, Georgia and  Linda (David) Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia;  seven brothers, Rev. Daniel (Patricia) Ramsey, Jr. Gary (Theretha) Ramsey of  Thomson, Georgia, Rev. Robert (Joyce) Ramsey and Jesse Ramsey both of Evans, Georgia,  Dera (Joann) Ramsey of Columbia, South Carolina;  John David Ramsey and Leon (Alice) Ramsey both of Augusta, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Earline Brown; three brother-in-laws, Rev. John (Margerett) Smalley, Ronald Smalley both of Thomson, Georgia and Danny Lee (Ayuma) Smalley of Sumter, South Carolina; two aunts, Ethel James Hickison of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Alice Ramsey of Thomson, Georgia and a host of  nieces, nephews & numerous cousins that she loved dearly.
