With sincere sympathy, we announce the passing of Mr. Troy “Pokey” Smalley age 52 of Thomson, Georgia who entered into eternal rest on March 5, 2019 at Pruitt Health in North Augusta, South Carolina. We solicit your thoughts & prayers for the Smalley Family during this time.
The Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11am at the Vanderhorst CME Church, 643 Main Street Thomson, Georgia, Rev. Larry Edmond, Pastor. The Body will be lie in state beginning at 10 am until the hour of service. The interment will follow the funeral service in the Westview Cemetery. The Repast will follow the interment in the Vanderhorst Fellowship Hall. Viewing will begin on Friday from 11 to 7 pm at the funeral home. The funeral procession will leave the residence of his parent, Rev. John & Margaree Smalley at 10:20 am on Saturday.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Melissa Smalley of Thomson; children, Troy (Stormy) Smalley, Jr of Florence, South Carolina & Brandon (Kia) Cobb of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one grandchild, Sa’Toria Cobb of Thomson, Georgia; parents, Rev. John W. (Margaree) Smalley of Thomson, Georgia; Grandmother, Louvenia “Bee” Hamilton of Thomson, Georgia; three sisters, Natalie (Michael) Moment Sr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia & Tracy (William) Ficklin of Thomson, Georgia & Passona “Sand” Smalley of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Tavarus (Yalonda) Smalley of Thomson, Georgia; mother in law, Bonnie Dawson of Covington, Georgia & father in law; Robert Dawson of Sparta, Georgia; sisters in law, Jessica Williams of Covington, Georgia & Cyntasia Dawson of Sparta, Georgia; brothers in law; Jazten Dawson of Sparta & Anthony (Lashanta) Dawson of Covington, Georgia; aunts, Earlene Brown, Ruby Dee Williams, Sarah Moss Finch & Daisy (Donne) Walker; great aunts, Ester Terry & Floria (Jerodis) Allen Sr.; uncles, Danny (Ayuma) Smalley, Willie “Duke” Smalley & Ronald “Dorothy” Smalley; great uncle, Thomas Hill of Thomson, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
